Tourism in Tasikmalaya

Tourist Destination : Gunung Galunggung
Location : 17 kms from Tasikmalaya
Description : With 2,241 meters above sea level, Mount Galunggung provides an exhilirating ascent and is 17 kms away from Tasikmalaya. It erupted on 5 April 1982 and lasted for one year and back then Mount Galunggung attracted more people who wanted to see its violent eruption.

Tourist Destination : Kampung Naga
Location : Neglasari Village, Salawu Subdistrict
Description : A traditional village whose society still preserves and adheres to their ancestors' customs among modern societies. This cultural tourist object with its surrounding natural background is famous and frequently visited by domestic and foreign tourists. Kampung Naga lies between hills extending from west to east. The biggest traditional ceremony that tells about the villagers' ancestors' history is conducted in the third Moslem month (Maulud).

Tourist Destination : Pamijahan
Location : 63 kms from Tasikmalaya town
Description : Most visitors intend to visit the Mausoleum of Syekh Abdul Muhyi thought to have spread Islam and regarded as the founder of Pamijahan village. In this area, there is a cave and inside the cave is place for a hermit and there is also a spring that is thought to flow from Haram mosque and the water from this spring is called zam-zam.

Location : Cipatujah subdistrict, Tasikmalaya town
Description : A beach with beautiful sea and white sand. Visitors can go boating in the estuary of Cipatujah river, fishing and buy various types of bananas.

Location : Cikalong subdistrict, loo kms from Tasikmalaya town
Description : A sloping rocky beach with fascinating sea and a small island called Nusa Manuk. At certain times, this island is inhabitted by various birds.
